(I had to re-write this because it got deleted the first time..gah!)Before I begin I would just like to thank everyone who has commented on my blogs and left me feedback! I appreciate it and look forward to getting to know you better. So thanks!
On to business...I love to listen to music. Music has its own supernatural way of speaking to me and it creates many thoughts that I would not have had without music. I have had a few revelations concerning music in the past couple of years because of the new and different types of music I have been listening to thanks to Nick Trzeciak =P But I like it and it guides my life in a different sort of way. So recently, when I have been down and sad and think that there is no use in trying, mainly because I'm fed up with school, I will turn on my iPod and put in on shuffle all songs. It seems to me that magically it will land on a song that is literally the exact same situation with advice about the situation I am in. This frightens me a bit because of the fact that the artist was in the same position I am in and he or she has made it through that place and onto bigger and better things. The reasons behind this flabbergast me (that's right, flabbergast). I wish I could understand what supernatural thing makes this happen, but I sure do thank it for what it does because it allows me to cope with the situation I am in. For example, I recently listen to Not Alone by Red whenever I need a reassuring hand to tell me that everything will be okay. This song is just beyond anything I can comprehend as it makes me feel like I can do anything and be successful at it, which is incredible for a song to do. Of course this song is only for the times when I am down, and I also listen to other songs that speak to me or pump me up whenever I am angry or have an adrenaline rush. Mainly Linkin Park for those two categories, but I still get those occasional random iPod shuffle songs that mesh perfectly with my life. Has this every happened to you? Do you think that music is an integral part of our lives? If you want you try the iPod shuffle thing and see if it works for you. But it might work the best if you have a wide range of music genres on your mp3 player.
I know that some of my thoughts can seem a bit outrageous at times, but hey what can I say? I'm a different kind of person and I see things differently than others, which is one reason I made this blog. Another question for you...Have you ever seen something (a concept, situation, movie, anything) differently than someone but were afraid to share your thought? I know that this has happened to me a few times, probably more than I remember. But it feels weird to not like a something that a majority of the group around you likes or enjoys that thing. An example in my life would be the deal with the various disasters in foreign countries. I do realize that they have been devastated and their livelihood has dwindled, but why in hell does this become our problem? I understand that we are trying to be a "nice country" to continue to keep the peace, but we have our own issues to worry about here in our own country and I think some people miss the point of being the USA. We are successful because when we first formed we were cautious about what we did concerning other countries. And I mean VERY cautious, and it comes across to me as if we are breaking down our barriers and allowing for more of our country to fade with all these foreign affairs. I know this is necessary that we do this, but it just seems like a waste of energy. I also got annoyed by the people of a certain race at my school asking for money and I just get annoyed by those people just asking for handouts. I could go on and on about this, but I'm sure Nick and Kelsey will fill up a few pages with comments so I'll leave the rest to them.
If you want to leave a comment, let me know what your favorite pick-me-up song is! I think this would be a neat way to get to know each other. OR you can just leave any old comment. Either is fine and I want your feedback because I love reading it.
